The homeowners wanted to turn this
1960s split level into a bungalow. A new
portico frames the entrance of the
home, with exposed structural members
and overhangs and sturdy pillars.
Tapered columns are surrounded by
real stone. New siding was put on the
exterior in horizontal lines to create
visual symmetry consistent with an Arts
& Craft style home.

Faux exposed beams were used on the
façade, and copper patina end caps,
iron beam ties and an Arts & Craft style
light post are examples of some of the
detail work. The mahogany front door
contains a custom handmade stained
glass inset, made by a local artisan.
Many of the materials used on this
project are maintenance-free.
