The goal for this project was to improve
the flow of this 80s era kitchen and gain
more counter space. Originally, the
kitchen had a pantry with bi-fold doors
and a desk area that took up a large part
of a curved wall. These were removed in
the new floorplan and replaced with
additional cabinetry and 12-inch deep
bookcases, which eliminated the curved
wall. Overall, 110 inches of counter
space was added.
NARI would like to thank its Cot Y sponsors:
Lighting was improved by adding
recessed ceiling lights, under cabinet
lights, a task power strip, pendant lights
over the sink, rope lighting above the
cabinets and a new chandelier over
the table.

Platinum:
Black granite was chosen for the
countertop to compliment the cream
colored cabinets, and the red wall paint
color accents the red travertine tile
used on the backsplash. Hardwood
floors replaced the vinyl flooring.
Because the old stove was not vented to
the outside, a new exhaust had to be
added and properly vented to the exterior.
