This bathroom couldn’t accommodate
two people getting ready in the
morning—there was only one sink, the
bathtub actually was in the bedroom
and the door to the bedroom was
situated mid-wall, making it hard to
move around.

The door was moved, and in place of a
swinging door, a pocket door was used
to save space. The bathtub was removed
from the bedroom, and an air tub was
put into a guest bath near the master
bedroom. The wall was removed between
the laundry and existing bath to extend
the space, and a laundry chute was
added to the new laundry room on
the floor below. This new space now
accommodates a two-person shower
with a full-length therapy bench. Both
the shower floor and the bench are
heated and thermostatically controlled.
An L-shaped vanity with two sinks and a
make-up area were added, as was a
wider commode area with a comfort-height toilet and quiet, multi-port exhaust
fan ventilation.
The original linen closet was taken out
and replaced with linen/storage shelving
between the closet wall and existing
window area.
